Hulu Has A New Streaming Deal With 21st Century Fox

As Netflix has become one of the top on-demand online programming streamers, Hulu is making inroads itself to add more variety and push to overtake Netflix. One step it did was by announcing a new deal with 21st Century Fox which will add many more shows with every season available. In fact, Hulu is actually partially owned by 21st Century Fox, but still as they have partnerships with other media companies, they have to do new deals from time to time to add new 21st Century Fox content to their package. So which shows could you now find at Hulu?

Hulu announced several well-known shows that would be added to this new deal including “How I Met Your Mother,” “Glee,” “Bones” and several classics such as “Hill Street Blues” and “NYPD Blue.” Not all shows added to Hulu’s service can be viewed yet, but it’s expected all of them will be available by the end of the year. Hulu had also gotten the rights to stream some of Fox’s animation domination programs such as “Bob’s Burgers” and “Futurama” in a deal already made. But will this be enough to make Hulu the leader in on-demand content once again?

Hulu is already looking to do more than just keep up with Netflix or Amazon. Perhaps understanding that cable cutting is becoming a trend among millennials yet there still is a need for live programming when it comes to certain events, Hulu added a live television service. Depending on what area of the US you live in, you can watch certain local channels by subscribing as well as access to cable networks who allow Hulu to stream their channels. This service is still only available on select Apple, Chrome, Android and Xbox devices and may need to finish adding Roku and others before it reaches its full effect.
